Status Bar

The Status Bar provides real-time information about your application version, system status messages, workspace save operations, available updates, and memory usage. It's always visible at the bottom of the window, giving you instant feedback about what's happening in VisualLeaf.

Overview

The Status Bar is always visible at the bottom of the VisualLeaf window. It displays important information from left to right:

1. Application version - Shows which version of VisualLeaf you're running (useful for updates or reporting issues)
2. Status messages - Temporary messages providing feedback about operations (fade after 5 seconds)
3. Workspace save status - Shows when your workspace is being saved or has been saved
4. Update availability - Notifies when a new version is available (click to download)
5. Memory meter - Displays current memory usage to help monitor resource consumption

Save Status

The save status indicator appears in the right section of the Status Bar and shows the current state of your workspace. VisualLeaf automatically saves your workspace configuration, including open tabs, connection configurations, UI preferences, and query history.

Status Messages

Temporary messages appear in the center-left area of the Status Bar, providing feedback about operations you've performed. These messages automatically fade out after 5 seconds and include:

• Connection events - When you connect to or disconnect from a MongoDB server
• Operation results - Success or failure of database operations
• System notifications - General information about application activities

Tips

• If you see the yellow warning icon for save status, your work is safe locally - the warning typically appears during network issues.
• VisualLeaf automatically checks for updates every 24 hours. Click the update indicator to download the latest version.
• If memory usage becomes high, consider closing unused tabs or restarting the application.
• Include the version number when reporting bugs or requesting support.
